Ashley grew up in Connecticut where she spent a lot of her childhood playing make believe in the woods—making art and writing stories. Inspired by her artistic parents, she developed a love of art, design, and travel from an early age. In college she studied International Relations and spent a semester at sea, traveling around the globe. After graduating, she eventually came back to her first love, visual arts, and has since worked for a decade as a graphic designer and creative director. In 2015, she began studying painting and drawing at the Art League School in Alexandria and the Art Students League of New York. She's had the great privilege to study with exceptional portrait painters and teachers Edward J. Reed, David Kassan, Casey Childs, Teresa Oaxaca, and Robert Liberace.

Ashley draws upon past travel experiences and current influences to create portrait and abstract paintings in oil. She prefers to paint from life but she occasionally works from photos and memory. She is interested in exploring the ephemeral nature of people, places, and nature and the relationship between the subject and the environment it exists in. She is currently available for painting commissions. Please use the the contact form to inquire about availability, process, and pricing.

Ashley currently resides in the Washington, DC area.
